The US State Department labeled North Korea a “criminal state.” Sounds good. The problem is that the label has no legal or diplomatic import. It’s just words. And then the State Department goes off on some tangent: But they choose, rather than doing so, to try to steal or pirate a World Cup signal even if the showing of the World Cup may well offer yet another crack so that North Korean people understand the dichotomy between what is happening in the North and what’s happening in the South and elsewhere.
I had to read that twice. Seems that NK is stealing the video signal of games. Oh. That requires condemnation from the US State Department podium, eh? I don’t get these people. All rhetoric does is add fuel to a fire. Unnecessary.
Stupid is as stupid does: Palestinian Authority will not demand that Hamas recognize Israel. The Palestinian Authority is not demanding that Hamas recognize Israel’s right to exist or accept any of the Quartet’s demands, including the renunciation of violence, as a condition for the establishment of a Palestinian unity government, Nabil Shaath, a senior Fatah official and former PA foreign minister said on Wednesday.
Looking forward to Abbas unifying this statement with his other statement about allowing NATO troops to keep the peace within the boundaries of the proposed Palestinian state.
What do you think about the feds spending $1 million to study and thereafter axe references to junk food in the school environment? Scoreboards, book covers, and fundraisers: It’s all on the table. Yet another reason to get the feds out of education. I taught my children how to eat properly because it was my job as a parent.
Better read this: Protecting Cyberspace as a National Asset Act. Here’s a link to the bill and another to an article discussing it. Here’s another article from Logistics Monster. It would give Obama authority – literally – to shut off the Internet.
I don’t care if it is only for “emergencies.” That is a state decided outside my control, and creates an outcome unacceptable to me.
Tired, folks … have a nice evening.
