You must be kidding me. But this is Reuters reporting it, not The Onion:
BP executives, including Chairman Carl-Henric Svanberg, CEO TonyHayward and BP U.S. boss Lamar McKay, were seen walking into the West Wing of the White House just before 10 a.m. ET for talks with Obama that were scheduled to last 20 minutes.
I am just aghast. Fifty-eight days of 2 million gallons per day pouring into the Gulf. Thousands of workers displaced. Billions of dollars in damages. Probably decades of environmental harm. And Barry meets with the BP execs only after being excoriated in the press for not doing it. And then he gives then 20 minutes.
That’s enough time to talk at someone but not with.
This man is useless. And they said Reagan was acting?
More: No Interior Secretary, but a slew of lawyers. And this: The White House says five BP executives were in the meeting, plus one outsider: Jamie Gorelick, a lawyer with the firm Wilmer Hale. Gorelick, of course, is a former Clinton Justice Department official who walked away with $26.46 million after a four year stint at Fannie Mae from 1998 to 2002. Gorelick is now representing BP.
Oh my. Salazar is about to get his bus ticket punched.
