Last night, the White House let leak a trial balloon (if you'll pardon the pun) -- top aides are working on reversing the decision to try the 9/11 conspirators in federal court, and giving them back to the military tribunals set up under the Bush administration. This would be a stunning reversal, as Obama and several of his top advisors -- chief among them Attorney General Eric Holder -- had made such a stink out of giving them a fair trial, and then hanging them.

Attorney General Eric Holder yesterday invoked the state secrets privilege in connection with a case titled Shubert, et al. v. Barack Obama, et al.. The Shubert case is pending in federal district court in San Francisco. Assuming the court agrees with the Obama administration's position, the case will be dismissed on the ground that it cannot proceed without a danger that vitally important national security secrets will be revealed.

All criminal charges against former Senator Ted Stevens will be dropped later today, the Department of Justice has announced. Attorney General Eric Holder said that he decided to drop the case because of the severe misconduct committed by Justice Department prosecutors--the only real instance of potentially politically-motivated misconduct in the Bush Justice Department that has come to light--which caused the trial judge to hold prosecutors in contempt of court.

The Washington Post reported this morning that Attorney General Holder has rejected the legal opinion of the Department's Office of Legal Counsel (OLC) that the D.C. voting rights bill pending in Congress is unconstitutional.

Glenn Beck asks Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal to explain why he prosecutes citizens who have broken no law, but refuses to prosecute criminals like Chris Dodd:

As Beck is clearly horrified to have noticed, Hope and Change mean degenerating into the sort of country where laws don't matter anymore.
