Some Republicans believe that, if 2010 turns out to be the kind of year it may be shaping up to be, the Party can pick up the California Senate seat held by Barbara Boxer. In theory, this view may be reasonable. But first, the Republicans must nominate a strong candidate.

THINGS SEEMED to be going very wrong for the state medical-marijuana movement. Two days after Barack Obama was sworn in, federal agents began a series of raids on licensed cannabis dispensaries and growers in California and Colorado--something Obama had suggested would not happen in his presidency. If our Democrat rulers thought they were acting in the country's best interests, they wouldn't be in such a hurry to rush through unpopular legislation before anyone can stop them:

Republicans had their best night in five years yesterday, winning two governorships in states that went big for Barack Obama last year.  They came closer than some would have guessed in holding a California district while running a no-name against the state’s Lieutenant Governor.  And while the local GOP botched a district in New York just as bad as they possibly could, the news from NY-23 is actually not bad at all.

Technically you could say the House has as HR 3200 has passed out of the Energy and Commerce Committee. Be sure to contact your congressmen and/or congresswomen over August and tell them to vote NO when it comes up for a floor vote. If your representative has a health care town hall be sure to attend so you can tell him you oppose the bill and why. We have to keep up the heat:

The similarities are amazing. Is Schwarzenegger trying to implement the president’s agenda in California? Some of President Obama’s critics say he wants to turn America toward European-style socialism but Arnold has been trying to do that for years. California, once had robust capitalism, economic growth and a sunny optimism to match the weather, but it has [...]

Even with the country going off the rails to the left, moonbats continue to play the sore losers. Typically, they've resorted to unsavory tactics to punish those who supported California's successful Proposition 8, which saved the state from the disgrace of homosexual "marriage."
