AIP Column: Michigan's Population Exodus

Today in my American Issues Project column I address the economic mess in Michigan, but I focus particularly on the mass exodus of educated, high earning citizens who are desperately needed to rebuild the state. Are Michigan's leaders taking steps to attract more people to Michigan? Nope. They're continuing on their high tax, punitive regulations that sent people scattering to begin with. Here's a portion:

Politico: House Health Care Bill Passes Out of Energy and Commerce Committee

We were told that neither the House nor the Senate will vote on a bill before the August recess. Technically you could say the House has as HR 3200 has passed out of the Energy and Commerce Committee. Be sure to contact your congressmen and/or congresswomen over August and tell them to vote NO when it comes up for a floor vote. If your representative has a health care town hall be sure to attend so you can tell him you oppose the bill and why. We have to keep up the heat:

Michigan's Disastrous Economy is...Engler's Fault?

Each week a physical therapist from our school system comes to our house to provide physical therapy assistance to my four year daughter. She's a very nice lady and I appreciate her help, but I have to say she has drunk way too much liberal kool-aid. We entered into a brief discussion about the mass exodus of high earning, educated people from the state who can't find jobs. I expressed dismay that the governor and legislature weren't doing more to help what small businesses were left in the state but were instead trying to enact more policies that would squeeze them even further.
