During graduation weekend at Dartmouth, Peter Robinson, in his capacity as a Trustee, attended a dinner with the 50-year reunion class -- the Class of 1960. What struck him most, Peter told me, was the extent to which the talk centered around professors these alums had taken classes from 50 years or more ago.

This report is consistent with my Dartmouth experience, which began less than a decade later. At that time, I firmly believed that the College's greatest strength was its faculty.

Ricochet

We got an email a few days ago asking if one of us would like to participate in a podcast with Peter Robinson, Rob Long and Mark Steyn. I said sure; that's not an invitation any sensible person would turn down. When I told my wife about it, she asked, "Is that Ricochet?" It was. Although I had not heard about it, she was already a fan. This morning we did the podcast via Skype. It was a lot of fun. Haley Barbour participated too, via an interview the hosts did with him a few days ago.

It starts with a cult of the leader. It is followed by nationalization and the suppression of free speech. Robinson concludes that Obama has made impressive strides down the path in his first 60 days in office.
