The Obama Administration recently appointed a police chief – who believes in illegal alien sanctuary city policies – to command an immigration enforcement program that entails federal agents working with local police departments on cases involving illegal aliens. As part of the Homeland Security Department’s anti-terrorism mission, the new director for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s Office of State and Local Coordination is now Harold Hurtt, an [...]

The Gulf oil spill has illuminated chilling realities about our federal government's incapability to handle genuine crises. Without a doubt, local officials in the Gulf region have been quicker and more resourceful in their handling of the disaster and the federal government has been a huge impediment. Dick Morris explained how the federal bureaucracy has greatly harmed cleanup efforts:

Just when you were probably convinced that liberal Democrats didn’t believe in property rights, President Obama demonstrates that they do. The catch is that from his perspective, the property is you. Using his party’s recently passed health care reform as justification, Obama all but declared total war on the American individual in an executive order he [...]

It's another severe embarrassment for the Obama administration, as the general the President hand-picked to run the war in Afghanistan gave remarkable access to a reporter from Rolling Stone (!) who recorded any number of ill-considered comments General McChrystal's aides made about members of the administration, including Joe Biden ("Bite me!"), General Jim Jones, and Obama himself.

When Eric Holder testified before the House Judiciary Committee last month, Rep. Lamar Smith asked Eric Holder whether "radical Islam" might have had something to do with the three notable terrorist attempts in the United States within the past year. Holder came off as a clown. Radical Islam? Don't say it, man!

The definition of a tough crowd? When Obama sycophants like Keith Olbermann, Chris Matthews and Ezra Klein all give the President’s speech the worst reviews since the latest Ben Affleck movie, there’s not a whole heckuva lot for the MWU to add. Perhaps Olbermann said it best (didn’t think you’d ever see that line, did you?

The DC townhome occupied by some of Congress's most far-left Democrats --- Dick "Our Troops Are Like Nazis" Durbin, Chucky "Don't Stand Between Me and a TV Camera" Schumer, and Califnornia's George Miller, is apparently a fetid pigsty. Representaive Bil "I Love Hugo Chavez!" Delahunt is departing the townhome when he leaves Congress.

Apparently, Democrats like to wallow in filth literally as well as metaphorically.

USA Today is reporting the good news that Adam Gadahn, the American who sold his soul to Islamofascism, has been arrested in Pakistan:

Pakistani intelligence officers say they have arrested Adam Gadahn, the American-born spokesman for al-Qaeda.

Two officers say Gadahn was arrested in the city of Karachi in recent days.

They spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to release the information.

U.S. Army General Stanley McChrystal has ordered U.S. troops to limit night operations and raids in Afghanistan. According to a report, the Pentagon is worried about rising civilian deaths in its assaults within the southern Taliban stronghold of Marjah. McChrystal issued the classified directive — which isn’t very classified – to garner the support of the Afghan people. Night raids of Afghan homes has created [...]

Greece's financial collapse is turning into theater of the absurd. Today, public employees in Athens staged an occupation of a government building to dramatize their demand that they be maintained at taxpayer expense, in the style to which they have become accustomed, forever. Even though there is no more money:

Keep America Safe is the handiwork of Bill Kristol, Lilz Cheney and Debra Burlingame. Its mission is to provide information for concerned Americans about critical national security issues. Paul Mirengoff has now twice attacked as "McCarthyite" the Keep America Safe ad urging the Obama administration to identify certain Department of Justice officials. The ad refers to the attorneys in question as "the al Qaeda seven."

Last night, the White House let leak a trial balloon (if you'll pardon the pun) -- top aides are working on reversing the decision to try the 9/11 conspirators in federal court, and giving them back to the military tribunals set up under the Bush administration. This would be a stunning reversal, as Obama and several of his top advisors -- chief among them Attorney General Eric Holder -- had made such a stink out of giving them a fair trial, and then hanging them.

The question arises in the war on terror: we know who the main enemy is, al-Qaeda, the men and movement responsible for 9/11, but what are they fighting for? What is their war all about? [Freedom's Battle: The Origins of Humanitarian Intervention, Gary J. IN THIS GALAXY, in the not too distant Future The wars in Iraq and Afghanistan demanded that the U.S. military focus its attention--and much of its research and development--on how best to respond to low-tech threats such as primitive improvised explosive devices. In August Assistant to the President and Deputy National Security Advisor for Homeland Security and Counterterrorism John Brennan gave a speech outlining the administration's deep thoughts on combating terrorism. The speech -- "A New Approach for Safeguarding Americans" -- "conveniently outlined the administration's present and future policy mistakes," in the words of Daniel Pipes.

Florida Rep. Alan "Dick" Grayson (D-MoveOn) has become the leading intellectual voice of the House Progressive Caucus by comparing the American Health Care system to the Nazi Holocaust and by declaring that Republicans want people to die. Now, he is expanding his repertoire by imitating Dana Carvey's "Church Lady" character from back in the day when SNL wasn't a weekly suckfest.

The Council on American Islamic Relations, the nation’s largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy group, began 2010 by complaining about new security measures being enforced at U.S. airports by Transportation Security Administration security officers. The CAIR leadership released a statement that claims the TSA’s airport security directives amount to the profiling of Muslims. Washington-based CAIR officials claim that the new guidelines, under which anyone [...]

In his interview with Chris Wallace on FOX News Sunday yesterday, Obama administration Deputy National Security Adviser John Brennan defended the administration's treatment of Umar Abdulmutallab as a criminal defendant rather than an enemy combatant. The questions culminated in this exchange:

WALLACE: Just briefly, what's the downside of treating him as an enemy combatant?

Scott and John have already eviscerated the dreadful performance of Deputy National Security Adviser John Brennan on FOX News Sunday. Before his appearance, the Washington Post had reported that "the normally reclusive Brennan is scheduled to appear on several Sunday TV talk shows." We now have a pretty good idea of why Brennan is "normally reclusive."

Chris Wallace interviewed Deputy National Security Adviser John Brennan on FOX News Sunday this morning. The interview transcript will be posted on RealClearPolitics this afternoon. At the moment I'm writing from memory.

President Obama responded yesterday to former Vice President Cheney's claim that he doesn't consider the fight against terrorism to be a war by quoting from his inaugural address. "On that day," Obama reminded us, "I made it very clear that our naton is at war against a far-reaching network of violence and hatred, and that we will do whatever it takes to defeat them, and make no mistake that's exactly what we've been doing."

Halloween wasn't all candy and fun for everyone. For certain homosexual militants, it was an opportunity to vent hatred at anyone who opposes their depraved agenda. Remember the gays who hanged Sarah Palin in effigy last Halloween? They've escalated their war on decency with this:

Peace is not a process. Peace exists when one of two conditions is met: 1) two groups of people have no wish to kill one another (e.g., the U.S. and Canada), or 2) one or both of the groups would like to kill the other, but is deterred or otherwise prevented from doing so (e.g., the Cold War). In neither case is a "process" typically involved. Negotiation, unlike peace, is indeed a process. But negotiations, even when they lead to a treaty or agreement, cannot bring peace unless one of the above conditions is also met. (See Munich, Oslo, countless others).
